- Pleasant Hill: Pleasant Hill Earth Day Celebration – Enjoy an evening of environmental demos and activities with the City of Pleasant Hill. More than a dozen vendors will set up alongside the great food trucks of Off the Grid to provide a fantastic night of family activities. There will also be live animal displays from Lindsey Wildlife, a demonstration hive from the Mt. Diablo Beekeepers, and more. 5-7pm. Pleasant Hill City Hall.
Friday, April 24
- Bay Point: Earth Day Farm Festival – Come to the Pacifica Garden Farm for a Friday afternoon of outdoor activities celebrating healthy living and our connection to Earth. Harvest, plant, taste, and cook with the folks at the Farm. There will be tours, music, health stations, and a nopales photo. 2:30-5:30pm. Pacifica Garden Farm, on the campus of Rio Vista Elementary.
Saturday, April 25
- Concord: City of Concord Volunteer Events – A series of hands-on volunteer events across the city offering residents a chance to support parks, plant trees, and help care for Concord’s urban forest. A great way to get outdoors, connect with your community, and make a visible impact on Concord’s green spaces. Sign the waiver to participate. 9am-12pm at the following locations:
- Willow Pass Park (2748 E. Olivera Road): Tree planting + mulching
- Brazil Quarry Park (Kent Way): Fence repair, mulching + tree planting
- Lime Ridge Open Space (3701 Treat Boulevard): Mulching, weeding + litter removal
- Hillcrest Community Park (Grant Street & Olivera Road): Creek cleanup
- Crockett: Earth Day Cleanup in Crockett – Celebrate Crockett’s 6th Annual Earth Day with a waterfront cleanup from 10am to 1pm. Toss on your boots and gloves and help the CCRCD make a difference! Cleanup 10am-1pm, Crockett Waterfront.
- El Cerrito: Earth Day Work Parties – You’re invited to join a work party and help beautify El Cerrito’s natural areas. The City will provide volunteers with gloves, bags and tools for their work party activity. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather, wear sunscreen, and bring water bottles. Snacks will be provided. Choose from the following work parties:
- El Cerrito Library Foundation Garden Clean-Up – 9am-12pm
- El Cerrito Green Team del Norte Bart Clean-up – 9am-12pm
- El Cerrito Trail Trekkers Hillside Weed & Broom Pull – 10am-1pm
- Fairmont Elementary School Garden Clean-up – 9am-12pm
- Starbucks El Cerrito Plaza Clean-Up – 9am-12pm
- Growing Together Garden Clean-up @ El Cerrito High School – 9am-12pm
- Motorcycle Hill Broom & Invasive Plant Removal – 9:30am-12:30pm
- Tassajara Park Clean-Up – 9am-12pm
- El Cerrito: Earth Day Repair Workshop – Have an item that needs repair? Repair coaches will share their time, tools and expertise to consult with you on the disassembly, troubleshooting and repair of your broken items. Whether or not you fix it yourself, you’ll learn more about how your item was manufactured and how it works. Register your item ahead of time by filling out an Attendee Registration Form so that coaches can come prepared and reach out in advance if additional parts need to be procured. Registration closes Sunday, April 12th – Limit of Two (2) Items per Attendee. 1-4pm. El Cerrito Community Center.
- El Sobrante: Earth Day Cleanup & Celebration – Join the El Sobrante/94803 Green Team and SPAWNERS at the El Sobrante Library for their annual cleanup and celebration. Sign up to clean up streets or do landscape gardening & clean up local creeks. A celebration will follow the cleanup, featuring light refreshments, face painting, entertainment, speakers, and more. Cleanup 9:30am-12pm / Celebration 12pm. El Sobrante Library.
- Martinez: Arbor Day Celebration – Join a hands‑on, community‑powered Arbor Day celebration at Pine Meadow Park. Bring your family, your friends, and your enthusiasm for planting trees. Dress for outdoor fun: comfy clothes, closed‑toe shoes, hat, and sunscreen. Refreshments 9:30am, Tree Planting 10am. Pine Meadow Park.
- Pinole: Planting Workday at Pinole Library – The ivy jungle at the Pinole Library has been fully cleared and it’s time to plant native plants to enhance habitat for wildlife and help stabilize the creek banks. Wire cages will also be built to protect the tender new plantings from hungry deer, which are often spotted along the creek. 10am-1pm. Park and meet at Pinole Valley Community Church.
- Richmond: Point Pinole Invasive Plant Removal – Join the East Bay Regional Park District and help remove invasive plants from the Point Pinole shoreline. Register to attend. Bags, disposable gloves, and necessary supplies are provided. 9am-12pm. Giant Highway Staging Area, Richmond.
- Rodeo: Rodeo Earth Day Cleanup – Toss on your boots and gloves and help the CCRCD make a difference on Earth Day by being part of their cleanup of Rodeo Creek. Cleanup 9am-noon, 605 Parker Ave.
- Multiple Cities: 2026 Waterwise Garden Tour – The Ruth Bancroft Garden is presenting a self-guided tour of over 20 inspiring home gardens in Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Lafayette, and Moraga. Participants must provide their own transportation and can explore the gardens at their own pace. Tour runs from 9am-4pm with a break from noon-1pm (Note: Gardens will be closed from 12pm-1pm). Cost: $20. 9am-4pm. Self-guided tour of homes in Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Lafayette, and Moraga.
Sunday, April 26
- Antioch: Black Diamond Mines Hike – Join Greenbelt Alliance for a nature and history adventure in the East Bay hills. Hike the Chaparral Trail to see spring flowers, view groves of Coulter Pine trees, and marvel at 50-million-year-old trace fossils in the rock. The group will also visit the historic Rose Hill Cemetery, the final resting place for many of the miners and their families. 9am-noon. Black Diamond Mines Regional Park.
- Kensington: Earth Day in Kensington – Come enjoy hands-on activities for all ages with opportunities to learn and engage. This free community event will feature a petting zoo, live music for children, community art, educational materials and environmental experts. 10am-1pm. Arlington Community Church.
- Lafayette: Lafayette Earth Day Festival – Sustainable Lafayette will be hosting a free Earth Day Festival where you can learn how to help our planet. Enjoy family-friendly activities and connect with local eco-friendly businesses. 11am-2pm. Lafayette Plaza Park.
