Caldecott Overnight Closures: December 2 & 3

Caltrans will perform overnight maintenance on Bores 1 and 2 of the eastbound Caldecott Tunnel on two consecutive nights – December 2 & 3. All work is dependent on weather. Only one bore will be worked on each night. Schedule:

  • Bore #1 • Tuesday, Dec 2, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM
  • Bore #2 • Wednesday, Dec 3, 2025 – 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM

Caldecott Overnight Closures: November 17-19

Caltrans will perform overnight maintenance on Bores 1, 2, and 4 of the Caldecott Tunnel. All work is weather dependent. Closure Schedule:

🔸 Bore 4: Mon, Nov 17 — 10:00 PM–4:30 AM
🔸 Bore 1: Tue, Nov 18 — 10:00 PM–12:00 AM
🔸 Bore 2: Wed, Nov 19 — 12:00 AM–4:30 AM

All other bores will remain open during work. Expect delays and allow extra travel time.

Caltrans Night Work & Lane Closures – Week of Sept. 29

Here’s a roundup of road work & lane closures for the week of September 29 as issued by Caltrans District 4:

Richmond-San Rafael BridgeNow through October 2025 – Night/overnight closures of westbound (WB) Lane #2 and the Bike/Ped Path from 7pm to 5am Monday-Friday.

I-80 Night Work (Pinole/Richmond)Now through late September 2025 – Caltrans will be performing night work on I-80 between Appian Way in Pinole and Carson Blvd in Richmond from 8pm to 5am nightly through late September. Work includes barrier repairs, lighting, and striping.

Westbound SR-4 Full Overnight Closure (Hercules/Pinole/Martinez)Sept. 29 through Oct. 10 – Full closure of Westbound State Route 4 (SR-4) weeknights from 7pm to 6am between Cummings Skyway and San Pablo Ave. Detour: Cummings Skyway → WB I-80 → San Pablo Ave. Eastbound SR-4 NOT affected.

Richmond-San Rafael Bridge Lane Closure October 3 – Lane #2 of Westbound I-580 on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge will be closed October 3 from 11pm to 6am (Toll Plaza → Marin) for camera installation and deck maintenance. Lane will be #1 OPEN. Expect minor delays, merge safely.

Caldecott EB #1 Bore Overnight Closure: Sept. 8-10, 10pm-4:30am

Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of Bore 1 of the Caldecott Tunnel on Eastbound State Route 24 (SR-24) for tunnel washing and maintenance.

Caldecott Tunnel Bore #1 will be closed the nights of Monday, September 8, through Wednesday, September 10, from 10am to 4:30pm each night for tunnel washing and maintenance. During the work, all other bores will remain open. Work is weather-dependent.

Traffic Control Measures: Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone.

Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of Bore 2 of the Caldecott Tunnel on Eastbound State Route 24 (SR-24) for tunnel washing and maintenance.

Caldecott Tunnel Bore #2 will be closed the nights of Monday, June 16, through Wednesday, June 18, from 10am to 4:30pm for tunnel washing and maintenance. During the work, all other bores will remain open. Work is weather-dependent.

Traffic Control Measures: Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone.

Caldecott EB #4 Bore Overnight Closure May 7, 10pm-4:30am

The EB Bore #4 of the Caledcott Tunnel will be closed from 10pm to 4:30am on Wednesday, May, for scheduled maintenance work. Work will wrap up by 4:30am on Thursday, May 8. During the maintenance work, all other bores will remain open.

Expect delays. Please drive slowly through the Cone Zone.

Overnight Lane Closure on Antioch Bridge, January 10 Starting at 8pm

Caltrans has scheduled one-way traffic control on the Antioch Bridge (CA-160), Friday night January 10th, from 8pm to 4am. Northbound SR-160 from the Antioch Toll Plaza to the north end of the bridge will be closed from 8pm to 11:59pm on January 10. Traffic will be able to flow northbound in the southbound lane as directed by flaggers.

Southbound SR-160 from the north end of the bridge to the Antioch Toll Plaza will be closed from midnight to 4am on January 11. Traffic will be able to flow southbound in the northbound lane as directed by flaggers.
